Is Chase Just Wasting My Time? PART 3

by Steven
(Clovis, CA, USA)

Thank you for your responses so far. You said to include the name, email and phone number of the Chase Loss Mitigation Officer assigned to my case.

All the people I have spoken to will only give me his name. They say the Reviewer is not allowed to deal directly with the person requesting the modification.

All I have is his name. No ID number, no email, no address. (In fact, none of the people have given me their ID number stating they are not required to do so.)

The only contact information I have for Chase is the Modification 800 number (and fax).

How would I get an email for Chase, and the person assigned to review my mortgage?

Thank you again!

Mortgage Loan Modification Answer:

by Loan Modification Expert - Dan North

(See earlier questions from Steven Is Chase Just Wasting My Time? Or Can I Modify My Loan? PART 1 for details on escalating your loan modification if you think your lender is violating HAMP Guidelines and PART 2 on asking for a Escalation Specialist to intercede on his behalf.)

It looks like you are running into Chase Policy since you are getting the same answers from each person you speak to at Chase.

You can try using the "help" button when you speak to Chase personel. Try variations of "can you please help me" or "I really need your help on this" or "is there something you can do to help me on this". Most people do want to help and if you ask them to help you very sincerly, often you will find someone who will bend the rules to help you even when it goes against Chase policy.

This tactic is good to keep in mind when dealing with Chase employees or any employees in any business when you need help or a special favor.

Fax Your Chase Loss Mitigation Officer Directly By Name

Since all you have is your Loss Mitigation Officer's name and the 800 number and Fax number lets try sending a Fax addressed directly to the Loss Mitigatio Officer assigned to your case by
name. (I am including all the contact numbers I have for Chase Loss Mitigation Departments below)

To: (name of you Loss Mitigation Officer here)
Re: Loan Modification Request
Loan Number: (your loan number)
Borrower: (your name)
Property Address: (property address)

Dear (Loss Mitigation Officer name),

I need your your help on escalating my loan modification. (in a couple of sentences describe the added time from repeated requests for signed documents and income documentation)

(Tell him you are in communication with the Escaltion Team at Fannie Mae and they have asked you for his contact data so that the Escalation Specialist can contact him directly. Ask that he
please provide a direct phone number and email so that he can be contacted on this loan modification cycle. You can also say that your Congressman has taken a personal interest in your case and is following up with the Escalation Team at Fannie Mae to assist me in the handling of the slowness of my loan modification.)

Be sure to include your contact data in the fax so that you can be reached (phone number, email and fax if you have one).

Request that you get confirmation that the fax was received in the fax letter.

Send Follow Up Faxs To Your
Loss Mitigation Officer
If you get no response in a day or two send a new fax letter (not the same one) asking for the same help and include a copy of the original fax sent. Do again every couple days and include the copies of the previous un-answered faxs if you do not get a response. After two faxs if you do not have a response you can also call the 800 number and ask for help in getting the fax answered and ask for confirmation that the fax got to your Loss
Mitigation Officer.

Make sure that you do send hand written letters to your Congressman and Senators requesting their help by having them contact the Fannie Mae Escalation Team to have them look into the stalling by Chase on the loan modification of your Fannie Mae backed loan. Give a brief explanation of the stalling and being 5 months past the 30 day limit in modifying your loan.

Include your name, loan number and property address as well as all your contact data. Provide them with the contact data for the Fannie Mae Escalation Team.

You will get a response from your Congressman and Senator and most likely they will contact the Fannie Mae Escalation Team on your behalf. Answer any letter you get back from your Congressman and Senators and ask that they directly contact the
Fannie Mae Escalation Team on your behalf and request that they take a personal interest in the escalation of your loan modification. Use the "help" word in your communications it does work wonders.

This will put pressure on the line to stop fooling around with your loan modification. Especially since Chase will know there is now attention on your case file by Fannie Mae. Your loan modification may even get handled before Fannie Mae contacts Chase on your case file.
